Bag Packing

Huge thanks to all who could make it to M&S today, it was great to see more than expected turn up. I was very impressed with the attitude shown in tackling a pretty dull task! some good teamwork shown in the collect by car department. All in all a great effort
thanks again and have a good xmas

Crymych

Great play today ...especially the first half, but good tackling and support play all through the match.
Thanks to Emyr for refereeing this one, although after today you can see why we are short of available refs!
This season so far we have played 12 games and won 6, not bad when you consider the changes that we have made to the squad. Last season we played 17 matches in total!  we will get close to that figure by Christmas at this rate.
To end, here is a picture of the new Totem pole formation!

Pontardawe

A great effort today, and a very entertaining game to watch. Everyone played their part and I hope you all enjoyed playing as much as we enjoyed watching.
Some things to work on still, but you did it right a lot of the time....keep it going, Tenby next!

Bad luck to Tom...... only a few inches short, arm stretching exercises for you!

New Kit Old Habits

OK so we looked pretty good in training....decent handling and lots of calling, so what happened today. The first half not as good as St Clears last week. Again some out of position play and poor tackling gave them 3 tries. Much better in the second half, at least they knew they were in a game.
I'm sure it'll all come good. Just trust in the training and have some self belief on the pitch. Don't worry about mistakes or dropped passes....everyone does it ( have you seen the Scarlets play?)
Just keep trying to get better.
Anyway, here is the first (of many ) try in the new kit....well done Owen, it came from some good passing and ball winning....so you can do it!

PS get well soon Aled!

Sunday 2 October 2016

Its a tough game

Not a great performance today, hopefully thats the worst we'll play this year!
It goes to show that you have to concentrate all the way through a match and try to anticipate the action, not just wait for it to happen. I think everyone did some good things in the match, just not enough and not at the same time! If we can start playing like we train we'll be able to give anyone a good game.
Good try face from Owain though!!!!!

these are the training tops we'd like to get for the boys.... I'll try to get a sample soon

A tough game against Wanderers, a big score against, but not a bad performance. Some good tackling again and a good attitude from all 13 players. I think we can see that we can compete with any team out there.

Monday 5 September 2016

Here we go again

Another season starts, we have a team, we will have new shirts and we have a win.....so far so good

Here is the new shirt design with sponsors  in place...I hope you're all looking forward to washing them

Thursday 17 March 2016

Back on track

It looks as if we are a fine weather team. A bit of sunshine and a dry pitch brings out the passing game....well mostly. It all got a bit messy in the second half.Up till then it wasn't a bad game. It was good to see two replacement wings both getting tries and there was some great recycling work by the forwards during the game. Heres hoping for some more dry matches.

Tuesday 1 March 2016

Sock selfies

Lets have some photos of your feet in the new socks, text them to me and I'll put them here!...we can have a guess the feet competition!

St Clears

A pretty brave effort, 7-0 at half time had them looking a bit worried. It reminded me of watching Italy. Great defence and coming close to scoring a couple of times in the first half but just couldn't keep it going through the whole match.Would a couple of tries in the first half have made a difference....maybe, we'll never know.
It goes to show that it's important to finish opportunities, and that any mistakes can lead to tries under the posts. well done though and at least you got new socks on the day!

Friday 26 February 2016

Cardigan

OOPs....ah well no shame in being beaten by a better team. And Cardigan were better, faster, fitter and more organised. Part of the trick in those matches( and there'll always be a couple of teams out there like that) is not to give up. It's all about character when you know your going to get beaten but just try to play good rugby anyway. It was a better second half... and should make the St Clears game look easy!!
Well done Owain for tackling like a demon throughout the match!!

Wednesday 17 February 2016

Crymych game

Some good rugby played during this narrow loss, only 3 tries to 2....and ours were better!
It's good to see you putting the training ground work into use on the pitch. Some really good driving work by the forwards to set up the first try, and only a few mistakes stopped you scoring another two.
Coming close to a try in the last minutes show that you have a lot of commitment.
Special mention to Calum for his fantastic tackle, chasing down a big lad over half the pitch, tackling and then getting up and playing the ball....great stuff.

So don't worry about the results, just keep improving as a team, Cardigan next....should be another tough test

Thursday 11 February 2016

Tour Date Suggestions

Looking forward to the tour....cos we're not playing any matches here! which dates suit everyone. We are looking at a May tour or a September tour, how do you all feel?
any ideas or suggestions gratefully received.
September gives us a chance of good weather and is something to look forward to after the summer training, May is more traditional, but I've already had some requests to play teams touring in this area, so we could have some fun matches then
We'll try to pick a time to suit as many people as possible so get your thinking caps on....destination suggestions also welcome, if anyone has relatives in California.....

Thursday 4 February 2016

Burry Port Feb 7th

Burry Port away on Feb 7th...should be a good match. With a bit of luck we'll get revenge for their visit to Abergwili
11am KO so we can get back home to watch the Wales match, be there for 10.15-10.20
the postcode is SA16 0RT
See you Sunday

Tracey's on the Run

Tracey, Finns mum, is doing a half marathon to raise money for the Wales Air Ambulance. She has a Just Giving page, and would appreciate any support you could give her. See below.....

If people would be kind enough to sponsor me, I'm running the Llanelli Half Marathon on Sunday 13th March to raise money for the Wales Air Ambulance

Thanks

St Clears Cup Game

The game is on for today ..........be at Abergwilli for 9.50 please  10.30 kick off

Sunday 24 January 2016

Milford

After being destroyed in the first half by a couple of players who may have been genetically altered as a result of their proximity to the refinery (Spiderman, the Hulk....we know it can happen!). the team showed a lot of spirit to make a comeback in the second half. We scored some nice tries and looked to have got rid of some of the rust from bodies and minds. At the end of the match we certainly looked the fitter side. A good scrum performance and the forwards carried well in the second half.
Well done to the lot of you for sticking in there!
I picked up a blue with red stripes Adidas top/hoodie  after the match. It doesn't fit me, so if anyone wants to claim it.....

Thursday 14 January 2016

Next match

OK fingers crossed for Milford Haven Away....hoping for an 11am KO .... I'll confirm the time when we have confirmation. The postcode is SA73 3ES
Go to Haverfordwest and turn left!

Some light exercise at D12

I think the photos show the effort that went into training tonight ....well done, maybe the same again next week
